Toenail Woes

Filed under: Random — Tony @ 2:18 pm

I’m still not entirely sure how it happened, but I am sure that I have one less big toenail. One moment I am getting out of the shower, and the next moment I am tripping and looking down to see my toenail hanging from my toe. I immediately knew that it was beyond the healing capabilities of the band-aid; it had to be pulled.

  1. Soak foot in water to soften tissue.
  2. Find a pliers and pull it off in one quick motion.

I will give a bit advice as to the selection of the pliers; use a needle-nose pliers. I tried using a regular style pliers at first, but the the pliers just kept bumping into the bleeding tissue under the nail which caused great discomfort and an inability to concentrate. Once I switched to the needle-nose pliers I was able to get a firm grip and successfully pull the nail out.
