Insanity Consumed
Have you ever felt insanity?
No, I mean have you ever felt it. It starts out small, a tiny anomaly in the back of your mind. You know that it’s there because you can feel it, but you can’t identify it and so you ignore it. Soon you’re surprised to discover that it has grown quite large; it starts to drip down and make its way into your heart, and your heart starts pumping it out in every direction. Have you ever felt it pumped out of your heart?
It burns, it makes your blood burn inch by inch as it spreads outward throughout your body, creeping along until it reaches your extremities. You look at your hands, you move your fingers, and then you realize the process is complete; you are insane. Yes, you know, but you’re glad to know because it could have overtaken you without revelation, and that my friend, is worse.
Am I insane? Well, it’s possible, but maybe, just maybe…
…sometimes I suspect that it is I who is the sane one, and it’s the rest of the world, it’s the rest of this damn world with the wrong perspectives.
