Upgrade Cisco 186 ATA to SIP Firmware
When I got my Cisco 186 ATA it had the H.323 firmware on it, but I needed the SIP firmware. I found out that you have to pay Cisco a licensing fee to get the SIP firmware. It took me too many searches to find out how to get the firmware without paying the licensing fee. Follow the directions below to upgrade the Cisco 186 ATA firmware to SIP:
Open up the phone line and press the function key on the Cisco 186 ATA. Next type in 100# Then type in 213*137*73*159*8000# Then wait for the confirmation message that your firmware has been updated.
